Why We Keep Coming Back to PFEMS

In football, the spotlight belongs to the players and coaches. But behind every successful team is a group of professionals most fans never see, the equipment managers responsible for making sure everything is organized, functional, and ready before a single snap is taken. These are the people who live in the details, and they take that responsibility seriously.
That's exactly why the Professional Football Equipment Managers Society Conference, better known as PFEMS, is one of the most important events on our calendar.
Why PFEMS Matters to Us
PFEMS brings together equipment managers from across the NFL and the broader professional football community. It's one of the few places where the people doing this work day in and day out can get in the same room, share what they're dealing with, and talk openly about what's working and what isn't.
For Dragon Seats, this environment is invaluable. We've been building sideline bench systems for professional football for over 25 years, and the relationships we've developed with equipment managers have shaped everything we do. These are the people who know the sideline better than anyone, from the logistical realities and time pressures on game day. PFEMS gives us the opportunity to sit across from them, hear what they're experiencing firsthand, and bring those insights back into how we design and improve our products.
Attending PFEMS isn't a marketing exercise for us. It's a chance to have real conversations with the people who know these sideline environments better than anyone.
What We Took Away
This year reinforced something we've come to expect from PFEMS: equipment managers are incredibly solutions-oriented. They're not looking for flashy pitches. They want real answers and straight conversations about what actually serves them and their teams.
Every conversation we had sharpened how we think about our products. Hearing firsthand about the demands of managing sideline equipment across a full season, from the heat of a Week 1 afternoon to the freezing conditions of a December playoff push, reinforces why reliability and ease of use have to be at the center of everything we build. Those conversations don't stay at the conference, they come back with us and find their way directly into how we design and refine our systems.
The Dragon ShadER™ is Becoming a Sideline Staple
One of the most gratifying parts of this year's conference was hearing how the Dragon ShadER™ has been received by the college programs using it. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and what stood out wasn't just satisfaction with the product but how quickly it has become a genuine part of sideline routines.
Collegiate programs that have integrated the Dragon ShadER™ into their setup consistently say the same thing: it makes a real difference. Whether it's protecting players and staff from direct sun during warm-weather games or creating a more organized, defined space on an otherwise chaotic sideline, it has moved from a nice-to-have to an expected part of the game-day environment. For the programs using it, the Dragon ShadER™ has earned its place as a piece of everyday sideline technology, right alongside the bench systems that started it all.
That kind of adoption doesn't happen by accident. It happens when a product solves a real problem simply and reliably. Hearing that reflected back to us at PFEMS was encouraging, and it pushes us to keep raising the bar on everything we build.
